How can counselling help?
Here’s the reality: counselling is an incredibly useful tool that helps with issues ranging anywhere from anxiety to relationships to trauma.
Continuous research shows that counselling is highly effective in helping people manage mental health conditions. Just being able to talk to someone without fear of judgment or criticism is a powerful way to better ourselves.

Getting started
Intake session
Treatment
The easiest way to get started is to jump over to the Online Booking tab and schedule our first appointment together. This can be booked for either in-person or via Zoom.
This first session is a time for us to get to know each other, as well as go through a variety of questions that help me understand your goals, your history and create a clear focus on past and present concerns.
Once the intake session is completed, we will then discuss what counselling might look like if we were to work together.
In addition, we will explore desired frequency of sessions as well as discuss any alternative referrals needed.
Who is Maria Drohan?
Hello! My name is Maria Drohan (she/her/hers), and I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist and a Masters of Social Work graduate from Lakehead University.
As part of my private practice, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can speak fully and honestly, trusting that I will maintain confidentiality. I bring compassion and a deep understanding to this process. There is no one-size fits all approach to therapy, so we will spend time understanding exactly what you are experiencing so that when you are ready to start making changes that improve your life, they stick.
